The Stagnari family started making wine already in the 1880s in Italy.

Now six generations later, the Stagnari family still does great wines but in Uruguay. A total area of ​​34 hectares divided into two vineyards, located in southern Uruguay, La Paz,

Canelones and Melilla, Montevideo. The area is known for it ideal climate and mineral-rich pink granite that is unique to southern Uruguay.

 

Vinification: Traditional winemaking where you harvest by hand and whole the vinification process takes place in the vineyard. About 2 weeks

maceration and part of the wine has undergone malolactic fermentation. The wine has been aged for 6 months in old French and american barrels. They have neglected to stabilize the wine because retain its rustic style, thus there may be precipitation in the wine.

 

Description: Deep ruby ​​red with a lovely aroma of dark berries, chocolate, vanilla, violet and some minerality. Medium-bodied with balanced acidity and clear barrel character. The taste is generous, berry and spicy a little earthiness, medium tannins and a long spicy aftertaste.

 

Recommendations: Served at 16-18 degrees. This wine is ready to drink now, but can advantageously be stored for another 5 years. Feel free to drink more savory stews, grilled beef, lamb and game. Also fits

very good with tasty hard cheeses or milder mold cheeses.
