Magnolia Hill Zinfandel is produced in Amador County as located just east of Napa Valley. The area is known for its old vines on mainly Zinfandel.

This is wine produced on 75-year-old vines on a plot of land granite rich in iron.

Vinification: The grapes come from approx. 75-year-old Zinfandel vines.

Fermentation takes place in steel tanks and the soil is mostly granite and rich in iron. The wine has been stored for 6 months American and French oak barrels.

 

Description: Deep ruby red. A full-bodied wine with lots of fruit, blackberries, cherries and raspberries are mixed with spicy notes of black pepper. Some barrel character with vanilla and cedar as well with velvety tannins. Balanced acidity and a lovely long finish.

 

Recommendations: Served at 16-18 degrees. This wine is ready to drink now, but can be advantageously stored for another 3-5 years. Drink it together with tasty stews and meat, preferably grilled with a lovely marinade or glace, glazed root vethis will be a perfect match.
